Welcoming a baby is a moment filled with wonder, joy, and love. It’s a time to gather with family and friends, play fun games, share parenting tips, and shower new parents with gifts and well wishes.

But for many families served by Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest, this special experience wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our community.

Each year, over 60 new parents rely on your kindness to help them celebrate and prepare for their newest family member. Some families are adjusting to life with a newborn while navigating financial hardships, making it difficult to afford basic essentials for their babies. Others are far from their home country and loved ones, missing the support network that usually surrounds this special time. And some are welcoming a baby through adoption, embracing the joys and challenges of parenthood with open hearts.

Our Community Baby Shower steps in to fill that gap, creating a day of connection and celebration for parents who might not otherwise have this experience. Parents get to participate in classic baby shower games, meet other moms and dads, and feel the love of a community cheering them on at the start of their parenting journey. It’s a day to remind them that they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

• Diaper bags – help parents stay prepared with a bag full of essentials.

• Gift cards for $25 to Target/Walmart – empower parents to pick out exactly what they need.

• Raffle gifts – add excitement to the day by donating special items from our Amazon Wishlist, like strollers, playmats, and cribs.

• Diapers – a gift that is always in high demand.

All gifts can be dropped off in Tucson or Phoenix office by April 28.
