Calling on caring neighbors

Churches have temporarily closed, entire countries are on lock-down, and it seems everywhere we look, there is more bad news to be heard. Yet, amid all these changes, the kindness from others remains.

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread and cause alarm worldwide, we here at Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest want to take a moment to step back and consider the work that still needs to be done. It is our belief that, though times like these can cause panic and disinformation, it also has the tendency to bring out the best in people. We ask only that you consider sharing or donating what you can, and know that we are thankful for having you as part of our community.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable in our communities, from those in our Aging and Disability programs to the refugees resettled here in the U.S. Just as it always has, it will take the support of our entire community to persevere in these good works.

In times such as these, let us hold one another, support one another and walk with confidence through Spring 2020. For we are brought together here and now to bring stability, dignity and respect to all who are part of the Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest Community.
