Play with Food for a Good Cause

Many thanks go out to Love of Christ Lutheran Church and all who participated in the "Play with Food" event on the weekend of March 7 and 8. Four groups used non-perishable food items to create amazing structures. All the food from the event and the corresponding food drive at the church and preschool (a total of almost 2,000 items!) was then donated to the Partners in Caring Food Pantry.

Congregation members paid to vote for the "People's Choice" Award, and raised almost $500 for the Food Pantry. The winners were the Kid's Canstruction Crew of Tara, Matthew, Mason and Katy Weatherly and Al Gjersvig. The towers of their fortress were taller than 6-year-old Katy but both she and her 9-year-old brother Mason were very involved in the building process. Rick Aussprung led the Thrivent Action Team, Psalm 27.

With the help of volunteers, and supporters like Love of Christ, the Partners in Caring Food Pantry provides more than 12,000 boxes of food for more than 52,000 people annually.
