It’s Baby Shower Season!

This spring, shower families with love with during the 5th Annual Community Baby Shower for families who are expecting a new baby, recently gave birth, or adopted an infant. You can express how much the community supports each family as they start their new journey of parenthood. Most of the families attending the Community Baby Shower do not have family in the area, and would not otherwise be showered with love and the tools they need to set them up for success. Can you help serve 60 families in need of some help?

The Baby Shower is just the beginning! It’s also an introduction to services like weekly check-ins and support until their child enters Kindergarten, parenting classes, parent and child workshops, and family stability services. During the first year, families enrolled in LSS-SW FRC services are matched with a Care Coordinator who shares child development information, including best practices in safe sleep, feeding and parenting tips, emotional support, and support navigating the medical system and community resources. This support encourages new parents and supports them in building strong relationships with their children.

Additionally, we are collecting essential items for 15 refugee families in Tucson who are expecting their first babies born in the United States. If you’re hosting a donation drive, click here for a toolkit.

Will you help to make sure these new parents feel supported by their community?

We are seeking donations of the following:

  • Full Size:

    • Baby Wash/Shampoo

    • Diaper Rash Cream

    • Baby Lotion

  • New baby toys/rattles

  • New baby outfits

    • Sizes 6-9 months and 9-12 months, non-gender specific (green, yellow, teal, etc.)

  • Diapers

  • Wipes

  • Gift cards to Target or Walmart for $25 

As a special prize for a few of the families, we would like to collect at least one of each of the following:

  • New Stroller

  • New Car Seat

  • New Crib

  2. Make a financial donation towards the purchase of items for the baby shower*

  3. Gather donations with friends, family, or your congregation and deliver them to our offices during donation hours. Please deliver donations prior to April 27, 2022. Scroll down for sample bulletin text, an editable flyer, and options for ppt slides.
